Zovirax Uses
Zovirax is used to treat or prevent infections from oral herpes, genital herpes, or varicella-zoster viruses. These are also known as cold sores, sexually transmitted herpes, chicken-pox, and shingles disease. Other treatments for shingles are Acyclovir and Valtrex

How Zovirax Works
Zovirax stops the replication of herpes viruses and shingles disease by blocking the formation of its genetic materials for shingles treatment. Zovirax is in an ointment form and is used on the affected area usually every 3 hours (6 times per day) for 7 days for shingles disease treatment. Take the full course of this medicine as directed.

Zovirax Side Effects
Some common zovirax side effects reported include: feeling tired, rash, insomnia, stomach upset, headache. If you experience other bothersome side effects, contact your health care provider.
